Abstract

In principle, Islamic architecture would be meaningless and incompressible if due attention is not paid to form, geometrical structure, and content. This content derives from the Islamic mode of life.
Abstention from wastefulness and extremism is a serious and important Islamic commandment.
This article attempts to consider architectural form and geometrical structure from the perspective of wastefulness and extremism.
In other words, abstention from wastefulness and extremism in content of the Islamic architecture would be highly significant for us. Form and geometrical structure derive from avoiding extremism and wastefulness in content. The opposite also holds true: A form which is based on extremism and wastefulness cannot be an Islamic model for us.
The article quotes many verses form the Holy Quran in which extremism has been denounced.
Perhaps the architect who is in change of designing and finishing a
building might not himself realize that he is being wasteful and going to extremes. But the committed and specialized experts will consider his work totally wasteful because in inflicts losses on the society. Then such an architect might be compared to Satan.
