One of the most contemporary phenomena of world theatre, examining the society and the individual through drama,is Realism.
During the current age and slightly prior to it, Realism, inspired by the industrial revolution and the following social political upheaval, was incorporated into drama and inspired a great many intellectuals on a wide spectrum. This articale will introduce a new definition for realism in literature and drama
This new phenomenon, concerned with the “apparant” and the “visible” qualities in its outlook, posed serious challenges to such prior orders as Classicism and Romanticism and try to offer an innovative interpretation of the subject based upon selective works of great masters as well as prominent researchers.
