Abstract

The historical development of the arts may be divided into two major categories:
divine art and secular or worldly art.
Believing that art by its very nature is an intrinsically divine resource for the artist whose sacred mission is to modify or express what “is” in the direction of what “4s desired” the above categorization merely implies two types of content in an art work which influences people differently.
Non-secular art is concerned with expressing the manifestations of God, namely the beauties of life and nature which are considered to be divine qualities in religion.
Secular art does not deal with its subject divinely or even philosophically. It gives the impression that the work in hand is a creation of an aimless, nomadic, worldly artist whose lost soul heightens his indecisiveness. This state of mind resembles a false euphoria whose duration is as limited as its depth.
