Abstract

A Summary of the Article: Impressionism School of Painting was born in the middle of nineteenth century amongst French painters. These artists were strongly opposed to the painting styles of their time based on classic 'art and realism.
According to them the classic and realist painters had taken a wrong path in painting the realities surrounding them and had succeeded in only showing a general understanding of reality.
These young painters who were later known as the
Impressionists tried to paint their imagination free and instantaneous understanding of their surrounding nature on canvas relying on some innovations in chemistry and physics on light and paint.
The number of Impressionism followers gradually
grew and numerous artists joined the school but not all stayed faithful to the end and following their last joint exhibition in 1886, each one chose his own style.
In fact many of the tendencies of Post Impressionists and Modernists rooted in the movement which was initiated by the Impressionists.
