Abstract

Iran’s Handicrafts industry has its roots in the history of various tribes of this spacious country. Among these handicrafts, clay and clay-making have a long history throughout the country-
from north (Azarbaijan) to south (Sistan and Balouchestan),and from east (Khorasan), to west (Kurdistan).
In addition to joining the various parts of the culture and strengthening the national identity, they play an important role in the economy, especially with regards to creating new jobs and their contribution to the Gross National Product.
Since the Iranian market is filled with foreign ceramic products in different forms and colors that attract many customers, similar Iranian ceramic products have not been able to attract as many customers. In this article, we have tried, through library and field and laboratory research, to define the status que of the ceramic industry with an emphasis on “Glass” in order to evaluate the existing causes of the present problems and suggest ways to remedy the situation.
